KSA of KAIST (shortly, KSA), a special high school for students gifted in mathematics and science is looking for competent and sincere international teachers as follows:

2. Eligibility

A person with a doctor’s degree, or with a master’s degree with over 5 years’ teaching and/or research experiences after MA (MS) degree. A person who is versed in English (Lectures must be taught in English.)

 
3. Preferred qualifications

• A person with an official teacher’s certificate

 
4. Term of Employment

• The renewal of contract is available.

            * 2 years : August 1, 2012 – July 31, 2014  or  February 1, 2013 – January 31, 2015

• Working hours: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday (*Working hours can be adjusted by school’s circumstances.)

 
 
5. Working Condition

• Salary (depending on qualification and experience)

                 * Starting from 45,000,000 KRW per year (for doctor’s degree)
                                       40,000,000 KRW per year (for master’s degree)

• Housing: Furnished housing provided.
• Entrance allowance: Up to 2,000,000 KRW including airfare and moving expenses
• Severance pay: equivalent to one month's salary
• Compulsory medical insurance: 50% of premiums paid by employer
• National Pension: 50% of contributions paid by employer

 
6. Selection Process

• Stage 1: Evaluation of submitted documents (KSA will give individual notice.)

 

• Stage 2: Interview and open class lecture (30mins. each)

              - Only for applicants who pass stage 1
              - Under unavoidable circumstances, the open class lecture can be substituted with a recorded class or be exempted.
              * In case of the impossibility of a face-to-face interview at KSA, the interview can be done using real-time video or telephone.

• Stage 3: Interview with the KSA principal (30mins.)

              * In case of the impossibility of an interview at KSA, the interview can be done through real-time video or telephone.
 
 
7. Documents to be submitted

• Step 1

• Application [attached KSA form] Download
• One photocopy of every academic degree certificate
• One Photocopy of passport
• Abstract of the final thesis

• Step 2 (only for those who pass ‘Stage 1’)

• Certificate of every academic degree (must be verified by the relevant nation’s Apostille or  the local Korean consulate)
• 2 or more recommendation letters (References)
• Photocopy of documents of career and awards (certified by a issuing institute)
• Medical check-up report (issued within 1 year)
• Criminal record check (issued by the central government of the motherland, and then verified by a nation’s Apostille or the Korean consulate)
• Sealed transcript of the highest level of education (must be issued by the University)

 
8. Application Period

• Application must be submitted between March 19 and April 20, 2012.
• If you cannot submit your application and required documents in person or by mail, you may send them by e-mail. But, when you visit KSA for the interview, you must submit original copies.
• If the documents are lost while being sent by mail, it is the sole responsibility of the applicant.

 
9. Important Reminder

• Giving false information will result in the termination of the employment contract at any time before or after employment.
• If the documents are not properly made out, it is the sole responsibility of the applicant.
• The submitted documents will not be returned and any incomplete documents will not be accepted.
