Recruiting Full-time Foreign Teachers

KSA of KAIST, a special high school for students gifted in mathematics and science, is looking for competent and sincere foreign full-time teachers as follows:

1. Employment areas and positions

2. Eligibility

A person with a doctor´s degree or a master's degree and 5 years' or more of teaching and/or research experiences
A person who is versed in English (Most lectures must be taught in English.)
A person with an official teacher's certificate (desirable)

3. Term of Employment

2 years (The term of employment can be renewed by the mutual written agreement between employer and employee.)

4. Working Hours

Employee shall work eight (8) hours per day for five (5) calendar days per week from Monday to Friday and shall not work on Saturdays, Sundays and any national holidays of the Republic of Korea.
Working hours can be adjusted by principal depending on the circumstances.

5. Working Condition

Annual Salary: 36,000,000 KRW~72,000,000 KRW per year (depending on qualification and experience/negotiable)
Housing: Furnished housing provided.
Up to 2,000,000 KRW will be reimbursed for Employee's entrance to Korea including airfare, moving expenses, etc.
Severance pay: equivalent to one month's salary.
Compulsory medical insurance: 50% of premiums paid by employer.
National Pension: 50% of contributions paid by employer.

6. Selection Process

Stage 1: Evaluation of submitted documents (KSA will give individual notice)
Stage 2: Interview and open class lecture (30mins. each)
- Only for the applicants who pass stage 1
- Under unavoidable circumstances, the open class lecture can be substituted for a recorded class or be exempted.
- If the applicant can not have a face-to-face interview at KSA, the interview will be done using the real-time video or telephone.

7. Required Documents to be submitted

Certificate of every academic degree (Copy of the diploma)
One photocopy of passport
2 or more recommendation letters
The final degree thesis (abstract of the thesis)
Optional Documents
Published journal papers
Results of research/study
Certified documents of career and awards
Certificate of qualification or official teacher's certificate

8. Application Period

KSA is inviting full-time foreign teachers at any time.

- Spring semester employment: until October 30 (previous year)

- Fall semester employment: until May 31 (same year)

If you cannot submit your applications in person or by mail, you may send them by E-mail. When you visit KSA for the interview, you have to submit original copies of them
If the document is lost while it is being sent by mail, it is the responsibility of the applicant.

9. Important Reminder

Giving false information will result in the termination of the employment contect at ant time before or after employment.
If the documents are not properly made out, it is the responsibility of the applicant.
The submitted documents will not be returned and any forms of incomplete documents will not be accepted.
